Perry Perlmutar
Perry Perlmutar is a Toronto-based stand-up comedian with a strong background in sketch and improv. His stand-up material covers a whole range of topics: from his former day job working as an English Second Language teacher to being a single-dad, to his experience as a Jewish man formerly married to a Muslim woman. His unique perspective and hilarious stories make his stand-up material memorable and original. His extreme likeability on stage has made him a favourite in comedy clubs around Toronto. Perlmutar was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for his Comedy Now! stand-up special, which aired on CTV and The Comedy Network. He performed in The Hubcap Comedy Festival in Moncton, at a Winnipeg Comedy Festival Gala which later aired on CBC television and radio. Perlmutar has also appeared at The Ha!ifax ComedyFest the LOL Sudbury Comedy Festival, the Niagara Falls Comedy Fest and the prestigious Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, where he will be appearing on Kevin Hart’s LOL online Network. He toured across Canada opening for Jeremy Hotz in What a Miserable Tour This Is and Ontario with the iconic Steven Wright. You may recognize him from his numerous television appearances. Select credits include the Much Music hit series Video on Trial, Dan For Mayor (CTV/The Comedy Network), Family Biz (YTV), MVP (CBC), ReGenesis (Movie Network), This Is Wonderland (CBC), Blue Murder (Global), Comedy Inc. (CTV/The Comedy Network), The Gavin Crawford Show (CTV/The Comedy Network), The Associates (CTV) and Snit Station (YTV). He has also appeared in several features including Happenchance, Prom Queen, The In-Laws and The Tuxedo.
