Pony Nicole Herauf

Originally from Calgary, Pony Nicole Herauf moved to Toronto in 2014 to study acting at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she now also teaches and mentors emerging performers.

She is an actor, director, and filmmaker whose work has been featured and recognized at festivals including Inside Out, Mammoth Lakes, VIFF, Whistler, Fantasia, DWF: NY, Chattanooga, and TIFF Next Wave, with projects currently streaming on CBC Gem.

Her debut feature film Young Female Playwright, written by and starring Ellie Moon, is set to begin its festival run this year.

As an actor, Pony has appeared in Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, It’s All Sunshine and Rainbows on OUTtv, and in short films that have screened at major festivals including TIFF, Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Cannes, and Inside Out. She is a full member of ACTRA and is represented by The Characters.

In addition to her on-screen work, she has contributed as a story editor across short films, feature projects, plays, and novels. She is also a member of the avant-garde dance theatre company Rock Bottom Movement, where she works as a writer, dramaturge, and performer. The company has held residencies with organizations such as the Stratford Festival, Canadian Stage, the National Ballet of Canada, and Toronto Dance Theatre, earning multiple Dora Mavor Moore Awards.

Pony also teaches film workshops through REEL Canada, supporting high school students in exploring careers in the Canadian film industry.
